“I don’t care what other people think”… it’s a lie.

“I don’t care what other people think.”

This is a lie. We say it to protect ourselves, to create space between us and others, to dull the pain. We are tribal beings - by nature we are invested in each other and the collective. We care. Our survival depends on it.

So does that mean other people’s thoughts, beliefs, opinions, and judgements define you?

No. Absolutely not.

As a part of my awakening process I’ve learned the beauty of detaching from the collective, from what others think of me - so that I can re-set and tune into what *I* think of me, what I feel about the world, the collective, and my place in it.

It has been a process of unlearning, releasing the binds of bogus collective “wisdom” (lies), and attuning to something greater. Something that’s been hidden, buried. That which has been patiently waiting to be re-membered within us.

How liberating it is to reclaim yourself. To captain your own life. To care, but to not carry. To care about what others think while maintaining your own space. To unlearn the habitual need to please others, and to carry the weight of their judgements. To care *most* about what your personal inner wisdom says. To place the highest value on the knowledge, power, and love within.

Affirmation: “I lovingly liberate myself from relying on others to determine who I am and how I feel. I love myself enough to become the leader in my own life. I quiet myself and allow my heart and my inner wisdom to guide me. I am ready to re-member. I release all false beliefs, bindings, and that which no longer serves me. With every breath I become more myself. I am free.”
